Last Friday I just noticed a new link in my Gmail that says "Gmail Labs" that leads you to a page with new set of options as a part of Google Experimental features that Google launched live to get users feedbacks.
Rather than the normal "Feedback Contact Form" we used to have in the old days, I can see that creating site labs or other experimental blogs and features are hitting the web recently as a new trend for user interaction and participation that will increase day by day.
What I like mostly about this new trend is the way you collect users feedbacks about specific features; giving them the ability to actually use the new features is the shortest way to gather information on how your users use your features or sites as by this you are receiving more reliable feedbacks and ideas from your targeted users.
Also giving them the ability to opt-in or out at any time in your experiment would make most of them really interested in providing you with more ideas with no fear of being lost or trapped by a system crash or something that would annoy them.
I'm sure that in the near future we'll see more sites alike "Beta Version" logos will arise soon. So don't panic if you saw a new website written beside its logo ... "Experimental"
